The short version
Saudade is built to need as little from you as possible. You can scan crystals and check moon phases without creating an account. We don't sell your data.
Who we are
Saudade is operated by Evelyn Szach ("Saudade," "we," "us"). This policy applies to the Saudade app and to saudade.world. Questions: info@saudade.world.
Information we collect
- Crystal photos. When you use the scanner, the photo is sent to our identification service to return a result. Saved scans live on your device unless you choose to back them up.
- Account information (optional). If you create an account to sync across devices, we collect an email and the content you choose to save.
- Device and usage data. App version, device type, crash logs — to keep Saudade stable.
- Location (optional, approximate). Used to calculate moon-phase timing for where you are. You can decline this and enter a location manually.
- Marketplace waitlist. The email you provide to be notified when the marketplace opens.
How we use it
- To identify crystals from a submitted photo.
- To calculate moon phases and ritual timing for your location.
- To sync saved crystals and rituals, if you have an account.
- To notify you when the marketplace opens, if you've asked.
- To diagnose bugs and keep the app stable.
We don't use your photos or saved rituals for advertising profiles, and we don't sell personal information to third parties.
Third-party services
Crystal identification is powered by a third-party AI image-recognition provider, under their own data-handling terms. We'll name our production provider here directly once the app ships.
Data retention
Without an account, scan results live on your device and are removed when you delete the app. With an account, we retain saved data until you delete your account or request removal.
Your choices
- Use the scanner and moon-phase tools without an account.
- Decline location access and enter a location manually.
- Request a copy or deletion of account data via info@saudade.world.
- Unsubscribe from the marketplace waitlist anytime via the link in our email.
Children's privacy
Saudade is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data, and we'll remove it.
